Richard Millar appointed Hill+Knowlton Strategy’s Global Chair, Creative Strategy

NEW YORK – Hill+Knowlton Strategies today announced that Richard Millar is appointed as Global Chair, Creative Strategy, driving a new global creative initiative. He remains UK CEO.
The creative initiative being developed and launched under Richard’s leadership will be crafted to answer clients’ strategic brand and business issues, and will be built around insights, ideation and implementation.

The initiative will be built around ‘centers of creative excellence’ deployed for specific client briefs. The first Center of Excellence will be created in the UK and then rolled out to the US and China.

In this newly created role, Richard will focus on elevating the importance of analytics and brand planning as well as developing and diversifying the firm’s creative talent, and will bring that under the leadership and stewardship of a creative director.

Millar will continue in his role as CEO of H+K’s UK operation, reporting to Jack Martin. Richard continues as a member of H+K Strategies’ global leadership group. He has been UK CEO since 2010 and currently leads the global relationship for longstanding agency client, adidas. Prior to that he was managing director of H+K’s consumer practice and from 1996 to 2004, he held a number of marketing and trading positions at Habitat, including managing director (2002) and marketing director (1996-2000).

Lars Erik Grønntun has today been appointed chairman and CEO of the unified Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region within Hill+Knowlton.
